Appraisers having more than a single discipline bring a deeper perspective to their work. All appraisers work under national standards known as the Uniform Standard of Professional Appraisal Practice and must meet the standards to provide acceptable appraisal reports.
Personal Property
There are no national licenses available for personal property appraisers, anyone can call themselves an appraiser, many dealers and brokers poise as appraisers to obtain work, Conti Appraisal Service does not buy and sell, only provides qualified appraisals [personal property qualifications]. The national standards organization has member organizations who give accreditation to appraisers who meet their ethics, experience and practice standards. Richard J. Conti has received accreditation from two of these organizations, the American Society of Appraisers and the National Auctioneers Association.
Real Estate
Appraisers are licensed in four categories, Real Estate Appraiser Trainee, Licensed Residential Appraisers, Certified Residential Appraisers and Certified General Appraisers. Trainee Richard Conti has completed the educational requirements for the Certified Residential license which he will test as soon as he has accumulated sufficient experience hours. Meanwhile he partners with others to provide certified appraisal reports [real estate qualifications].
